i wish i was an airplane pilot because at random points during the flight i would go on the intercom and just scream

#i worry about most of you guys getting jobs

“good evening everybody, this is your captain speaking… I just saw a cloud that looked like a puppy on a skateboard… puppies don’t usually do that!” then I would violently laugh and make it very uncomfortable for the other passengers.

Why is Joss Whedon such a terrific writer

Use of humour. Even when other writers would think it’s inapropriate.

“Puny god.”

“Xander decided he blames the wall.”

“We attack the mayor with hummus.”

“All right. I get it. You’re evil. Do we have to chat about it all day?”

Smashing tropes to pieces.

-“This is something the captian has to do himself.”

- “No it isn’t!”

- “Oh!”

“Thank you for your cooperation.”

Not being afraid to be grand when the situation demands it.

“I walk. I talk. I shop. I sneeze. I’m going to be a fireman when the floods roll back. There’s trees in the desert since you moved out and I don’t sleep on the bed of bones.”

“The world will be his. The universe yours. And the humans, what can they do but burn?”

“Every girl who can have the power, will have the power.”

“Yeah, but she’s our witch. So cut her the hell down.”

Being deep without being cheesy and perfectly understanding human nature.

“You think saving a man no more virtuous than yourself will change anything?”

“Strong is fighting. It’s hard and it’s painful and it’s every day!”

“He wants flowers, he wants parades, he wants a monument built to the sky with his name plastered…”

And giving every character a background, an actual character and a motivation (and keeping that character).

“There was… a cellist, I think.”

“Mercy is mark of a great man. Guess I’m just a good man. Well, I’m all right.”

- “Now this is all the money Niska gave us in advance…”

- “Oh, I get it. I’m good. Best thing for everybody. I’m right there with you.”

“Everybody plays each other.”

Valentine’s Day again

I want to make this a tradition - I want to remember fictional pairs on Valentines Day. Last year the theme was my favourites. This year I want to remember my favourite pairings that never had the chance to be - either they are not cannon or they are, but they either broke up or one or both of them died too soon to have a proper time together - hence the:

SPOILER ALERT!

Choose your top 5 TV shows:
 1. Doctor Who
 2. Supernatural
 3. Buffy, the Vampire Slayer
 4. Firefly
 5. Game of Thrones

The first character you fell in love with:
 1. Ninth Doctor. I think it was the first “Run!” that got my attention, but it was the first “Fantastic!” when I got lost.
 2. Dean. I loved the way he seemed so careless and man, he used to be funny. And he should have stayed that way.
 3. Hard to say, probably Willow. Always loved the nerd.
 4. Mal or Simon, I’m not sure who was first. They are both kinda awesome.
 5. Robb Stark, of course.

The character you never expected to love as much as you do now:
 1. Donna. In Runaway Bride, I hated her so much! But then I came to know her.
 2. Bobby. I have expected him to die very soon, but when he became the only voice of reason in the show, I knew he was the best.
 3. Xander, Buffy, Angel, Giles, Cordelia, basically everybody
 4. Difficult, probably Inara. I expected her to be an arrogant bitch and she turned out much, much better.
 5. Sansa. Definitely Sansa.

The character you can’t stand:
 1. Wilfred Mott. Sue me, it’s true.
 2. Ruby and Lisa. Don’t like Mary Sue girlfriends.
 3. Darla. But that has some connection to Angel.
 4. Nandi. Just like that. Yes, a hardcore Inara/Mal shipper here.
 5. Joffrey - who’s with me?

The character you would shag anytime:
 1. Tenth Doctor
 2. Dean, Castiel, Sammy, Adam, Gabriel, c’mon, you really expect me to pick one?
 3. Oz. Always had a thing for werewolfs. Or Riley. Always had a thing for the goody guys.
 4. Simon Tam. See above.
 5. Robb Stark. Or Jaime Lannister.

The character you’re most like:
 1. Donna Noble probably. There is one quote about her that describes me perfectly.
 2. I would go for either Jo or Bobby.
 3. Willow or Tara. Except for the witch part. And the lesbian part.
 4. I would fall somewhere between Simon, Kaylee and River. Not neccessarily in that order.
 5. Tyrion. Except not even half that smart.

Who are your 3 favorite characters from each show in order?
 1. Martha Jones, Tenth Doctor, Donna Noble
 2. Gabriel, Bobby, Azazel (and Death as a bonus)
 3. Spike, Vampire Willow, Oz
 4. River, Simon, Kaylee
 5. Robb, Tyrion, Jorah

[x]

I love this scene! What I especially love is the look on Simon’s face. It’s like he can see River actually happy for the first time since he rescued her. Here, for the first time, he really feels like the whole thing - destroying his life, becoming a fugitive - was worth it. Just to give River the chance to dance again.

And I fell in love with this show, when...

Doctor Who: I think you need a doctor.

Supernatural: Your girlfriend is past her expiration date and we're crazy?

Firefly: Kaylee's dead.

Blackadder: So, what you're telling me, Percy, is that something you have never seen is slightly less blue than something else you have never seen.

Sherlock: The name is Sherlock Holmes and the adress is 221B Baker Street.

Buffy: If every vampire who said he was at the crucifixion actually was there, it would've been like Woodstock.

As for Valentine’s day…

I just want to remeber a couple of couples that have a special place in my heart. I wouldn’t use the term of “shipping” or “OTP” but they are special to me. There might be some mild spoilers, though I’m not saying that those pairings are canon or happy. I’m not even saying that the love is requited. Some of the names have Czech spelling (to spell a Russian name in English is task too big for me).

Happy Valentine to…

Faramir and Éowyn (Lord of the Rings, J.R.R.Tolkien) - the love that changes heart and soul

Vasilisa Dragomir and Christian Ozera (Vampire Academy, Richelle Mead) - the love that doesn’t know prejudice

Robb Stark and Jeyne Westerling (Song of ice and fire, G.R.R.Martin) - the love that changes the course of war
